Once you've washed off the colour guide and waited at least 8 hours, you can apply your favourite moisturiser to your entire body. Moisturising the skin everyday is the key to a longer lasting fake tan as it prevents the tan from cracking and flaking.

The answer is YES, but only after the self tan has fully developed. All Bali Body fake tan's take around 8 hours to fully develop and reach their maximum level of glow. Regardless of when you wash the colour guide off, we highly recommend you don't moisturise until the 8 hour mark.

Can you moisturize after fake tan? Yes, you certainly can, and in fact, some say you should – but we don't. We believe (think) it depends more on your skin type and the time you have to your disposal. However, be sure that you choose a simple hydrating moisturizer and not one that is oil based.

However, keeping the skin hydrated can reduce the rate of sloughing and extend the life of your tan; the fewer skin cells that are shed, the longer your tan will last. Be sure to moisturise your entire body from top to toe after a sunless tanning treatment.

How long does fake tan take to dry? False tan formulas can feel tacky on the skin for hours afterwards, however, they should be largely absorbed after as little as twenty minutes. Just make sure to avoid restrictive clothes, underwire bras or anything that rubs onto the skin and don't get the skin wet.

Sunless tanners are a safe and effective alternative to tanning outside or in a tanning bed. Understand what shade you're looking for to help you choose the right self tanning product. Moisturize a few hours before applying self-tanner, and not immediately beforehand.

After your shower, moisturize with an oil-free moisturizer. Hydrated skin maintains a tan longer than dry, thirsty skin. Remember the previous spray tan aftercare tip to stay dry and make sure that any moisturizing occurs at least 4 hours after the spray tan.

Once applied you can wash skin after just 1 hour, but for a deeper, longer lasting tan leave on for up to 8 hours. As it really is personal choice, you may need to test it out a few times before knowing what suits you best. And after washing off, you can always re-apply if you're after a deeper tan.

Once out of the shower, gently pat your body dry with a soft towel. Avoid rubbing, which will essentially exfoliate away your tan and lead to a patchy, uneven finish. Many fake tans can be drying, so be sure to lock in moisturise with a super-hydrating body lotion or cream (more on this later).
