What is the purpose of trading partner?
A Trading Partner is a business entity that your company interacts with and sends/receives transactional information (such as orders and invoices) via electronic form.
A trading partner is a party to a transaction in the supply chain, such as a supplier (seller) or a retailer (buyer). Manufacturers can play a role of suppliers as well, however it is not necessary that all suppliers are manufacturers. It is by their role that they get classified as "Suppliers" and "Retailers".
U.S. Free Trade Agreement (FTA) partner countries provide greater market access through reduced or eliminated tariffs, intellectual property protection, and elimination of non-tariff barriers among other provisions.

On the other hand, suppliers operate within the supply chain, offering goods and encouraging bulk purchases. Both are integral to delivering enhanced value, albeit in vastly different ways.
A supply chain starts with the ordering of raw materials or components from a supplier and ends with the delivery of a finished product or service to the end consumer.
