How long does a spray tan last? ›

Because your skin is constantly creating new skin cells on the epidermis level, any skin treatment will fade over time. Spray tans generally last for 7-10 days, depending on the coverage you requested; if you wanted a lighter color, your tan could fade more quickly.

DO wear loose, dark clothing for the rest of the day or night after your spray tan, remembering your feet, flip flops are best! DO not exercise or sweat excessively after your spray tan, it could influence the development. DO moisturise regularly using an oil-free moisturiser as this keeps your spray tan longer.

For the best results, it's recommended that you wait eight hours to shower after your spray tan is completed. The minimum amount of time to wait is four hours. If you don't wait long enough to allow the DHA to set in, it could cause the tan to be less intense.

Shower, shave and exfoliate the night before, and NOT right before. Exfoliating the skin is very important for a flawless tan outcome! Avoid wearing any lotion, deodorant, makeup or any products to your session.

When you're in the tanning 'tent' (a one-person pod with an open front) the therapist will usually start by applying the formula, dispersed through a spray gun, to your face. As advised, take a deep breath and close your eyes.

Can I wash my hair after a spray tan? ›

WAIT IT OUT. As a rule of thumb, you should wait for at least four to eight hours before showering so your tan can develop to its true color. Beyond that, it's best to wait 24 hours before washing your hair. This will give your tan time to set fully.

Will a spray tan stain my sheets and clothing? No, but bronzer will transfer onto your sheets and clothing generally the first day so wear something dark and always wear loose-fitting clothing to and after your appointment. If you are concerned about your bedding, change your sheets, or put down a towel.

Your Tan Will Look Natural
