I wasn't asked to do a beauty review on Jimmy Coco, but after a few days of wearing his A-lister spray tan, I wanted to. Today's top videos So, when I heard Jimmy was coming to town to launch his first sunless tanning line and his spray tan into Irish salons I jumped at the chance of being tanned by the master. For this beauty review, I had no hesitation in saying yes to a spray tan. Jimmy has been working on developing a new retail tan for some time now and he has managed to tempt Alyson Hogg into the company as CEO. Alyson is the powerhouse behind Vita Liberata tan which she sold a few years back, and Jimmy's tan impressed her so much that she is back in the tanning game. Jimmy's Sunless by Jimmy Coco will roll out across pharmacies in the coming months, and his spray tan will, no doubt, be picked up by salons far and wide. My date with Jimmy wasn't without its traumas, it's not all glamour and sparkles in the beauty world, you know. Over the day I had filming, writing and plenty of driving to do. By the end of it, I had my car towed and clamped and spent nearly two hours trying to get home by 9pm because Storm Babet caused havoc with the traffic. That said, by far the best part of the day was catching up with Alyson in The Devlin Hotel and then meeting Jimmy in the Oslo beauty salon next door for my spray tan. We hit it off immediately which was handy because I was about to get naked in front of the guy. Those teeny tiny g-strings you wear for a spray tan are a modesty protector, but Jimmy seemed surprised when I asked for one. Most of his A-list clientele go completely nude because of the white lines they leave. Aghast, I explained how in Ireland a white line was absolutely necessary to show how white you were before the tan, like stripes of honour. Laughing, he then adjusted the g-string so at least the lines were a bit sexy (and even on both sides). He also asked me what shade I wanted - Light, Medium or Dark. Because I was thinking of doing a beauty review I asked for a dark tan, which is my favourite shade at all times. I'll be honest, this was only my second-ever spray tan. The first was from Jules Von Hep who owns Isle of Paradise, so my standards are stratospheric they are so high. Jimmy sprayed me like he was creating art, giving me muscle shape and contour that I knew I didn't have. He sprayed my knees, elbows, feet and fingers so well I thought they were actually that tanned, but that could have been a fuzzy brain from a lack of food as I hadn't eaten all day. Then, in a moment of absolute hilarity, he did something I wasn't expecting. I realised that Jimmy had moved in to give my tummy a little six-pack sculpting and nearly fell over from laughing. I said 'are you trying to give me a six-pack with tan' to which he replied he was. I said the only six-pack that I have would be 'a six-pack of crisps' and we had to stop all proceedings for a minute or two to get back on track after cracking up laughing. Jimmy explained to me that his tan has two tanning agents along with lots of hydrating factors. The second tanning agen activates a day or two after the spray tan, giving it a boost of colour, and it did on my skin. On Thursday when I had the tan it looked amazing, by Saturday it looked refreshed and vibrant. I was also delighted with my white stripes (it's an Irish thing, right?) and my husband said I looked like I'd left him and gone to live in Spain. Jimmy's Sunless tan is better than any tan I've ever used, and that's coming from someone who tans every week at home. I'm already looking at the calendar for party season so I can book myself back into Oslo for another. Between now and then, I will be using his at-home tan to keep my colour and hopes up as we head into winter.
